Bint Al-Balad — daughter of the land — is where the Myrrh Bearers Society’s mission meets the table. We believe that food is one of the most powerful carriers of culture, memory, and identity. The recipes we cook at Bint Al-Balad are not just meals; they are a living archive of Palestinian culinary heritage, the kind passed from grandmother to granddaughter across generations in Jerusalem’s homes.

We source locally, cook traditionally, and prioritize the health and richness of the ingredients that define Palestinian and heritage cuisine. Our menu spans hearty daily meals and slow-cooked heritage dishes, house-baked pastries and seasonal cultural specialities — including dishes drawn from the Armenian heritage that has long been woven into Jerusalem’s fabric.

But Bint Al-Balad is also an act of economic empowerment. Our kitchen is run by and for local women — many connected to the Myrrh Bearers Society’s wider network. When you eat with us, you are sustaining a livelihood, a tradition, and a community.
